Able lands at Omaha beach on D-Day, during the first
wave, where they move up 'Dog White' and 'Dog Red' and take out three
artillery pieces. This places them as part of the 29th Infantry Division,
116th Infantry regiment. The night before, Fox Company, lands near
Vierville-sur-Mer, placing them with the 101st Airborne Divison, and on
all airborne models the 'spade' symbol places them in the 506th Infantry
Regiment, making them the sister company to Easy Company of Band of
Brothers fame. Fox takes and defends Carentan, placing them in the 506th
again. Able moves up the Cotentin peninsula, taking Cherbourg, placing
them away from the 29th Infantry Division, but they later take St. Lo in
line with the 29th. After Cherbourg is taken, Fox makes an attack on a V2
launch site, which seems to be the one near Brix, the one actually
discovered when Cherbourg was taken. Able takes the town of St. Fromand, a
hill situated around St. Lo, and later St. Lo itself. Able later defends
Hill 317, a hill near Mortain, similar to the real Hill 314. Able finally
travels with the 90th Infantry division to close the Falaise Pocket. |
